The tool on the left in your picture is what worked for me. I used an impact wrench with the lowest setting and the studs came right out. Keep the impact wrench lined up straight.

They are chamfered for the head bolts and run about $50.00/set.

I have the ARP setup. Does the chamfer on the washer go up or down?

ZINC additives and hardened valve seats necessary?

I'm rebuilding a pretty much stock 59AB and I have just two questions (so far).

1. With a mild regrind cam and new lifters and stock springs, should I use a zinc additive for break in?

I used a tool I got from Northern Tools and my impact wrench.
The tool looks like a drill chuck and has a 7/8" nut-like top.
Put it over the stud and turn it counter-clockwise so it grips the...

Be really careful when using that cutting torch when your acetylene bottle is horizontal The bottle needs to stand up straight to keep from drawing acetone out in liquid form.
