Hello guys thanks for the feedback and tips after a few this past weekend, I managed to massage it into place. It opens and closes and sits properly with the gasket in place.

Thanks for all your feedback and thoughts. Got some time in the garage this past weekend. And was able to massage the cowl vent into place and have it close properly with the gasket in place.

Hello David, yes that extra hole is what was used to bolted shut by the prior owner. The lower level ratchet is the one that was in the truck, I tried the new one didn’t seem to make a difference if...

32 Ford Cowl Vent
Hello, when I got my pickup, someone had previously drilled a hole in the cowl vent and bolted it closed using fender washers.
bought a new gasket and spring
Seems that with or without gasket...

32 Ford Pickup windshield frame removal
So the windshield is open and I removed all the screws from the under side of the cab header (top of windshield).
And the 3 nuts on the topside off the cab header.
Swing arms are disconnected....
