What's the best way to determine if a 3 speed has overdrive ? the R10 stamp on the case or another way ?

My Dad has a 53 Victoria Fordmatic that is, in short, absolutely no fun to drive. He's always wished it was a 3 speed column shift. I know this is a 54 & newer forum but I'm thinking I may be best...

JSeery- If I used one like those you posted photos of would I need to put anything over the opening to prevent dirt from entering ? the one on the car now has a small cap on top that rotates.

Help Needed Finding brake part for 53 Victoria

A brass brake line connector is mounted on the rear axle of our 53 Victoria by a threaded hollow stud that also acts as a vent for the rear axle.

Anyone know a source for this vent tube/brake...

Looked at the distributor and it looks to be the original one to the engine.

Tag has "FoMoCo" script, 8BA and part no. 12127

I thought we'd installed another one after having the engine rebuilt...

Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions;
- this car has all original wiring.
- turn signals are not working.

We converted it to 12v. I'm going to buy a 12v brake stop light...

Thanks for the replies. To answer a few questions;

It's an Offenhauser 2 x 2 intake on the car now.

The stock distributor has been replaced with another. I'll look at it today and let ya know...

53 Victoria. Car does not have back up lights. Tail lights come on with headlights but car has no brake lights.

My Dad has a 53 Ford with a 239 flathead. He's running two 2 barrel carbs (Ford 8BA) on a freshly rebuilt stock engine.
