Re: Y-Block 292

Wow, lots of good information here! I think that I will go the easy route first. i.e. Checking & retorquing the head bolts. Then if the water leak comes back later, I will pull the heads and check &...

DMFSRR,
I am using an aftermarket gauge with it's sensor installed in the same location in the engine as the original factory temp gauge.

Re: 54 Mercury floor shift conversion

I resorted to EBay and found a guy with the ID there of 4ever4d named Mike who had bought out a Hurst dealer back in the 70's and had the conversion kit I needed. It was a tight fit, especially...

Re: Brake booster bad

I don't know what part of the country you're located in. Midwest Booster is near Chicago, Booster Dewey is out west. Both are good. You can find them is Hemmings Motor News.

Re: 54 Mercury Steering Column Wiring

Eureka (as the old philosopher said) I have found it! It was a dual problem that Leprechaun Murphy put on me. Testing for power at the junction block from the turn signal circuit, I found none and...

Re: 1957 Fairlane Power Steering Conversion

The Borgeson unit is a good fit unless you want an original system with the slave cylinder. Some of those show up on EBay now and then. Check out Summit or Jegs; I think they have the parts needed to...

Re: Can you weld an exhaust manifold to repair it?

I agree with the guys that have advised you about arc (Stick) welding. I have pre-heated manifolds in my outdoor propane grill. My best results have been obtained using welding rod with high nickel...

Re: '54 Mercury, hot wire to buss bar & curcut breaker
