Thanks Coop, but figured it out. Just removed the two spring supports and the hood will rotate up about all the way to the windshield.

Which hood connections do you disconnect in order to get the hood to go up that high? Which ones are left in place?

Jim, I'm just wondering why you swapped the location of the two gauges? I recently got a 1939 Deluxe Coupe and am still figuring out what has to be done to make it drivable.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have put the wheel back on and shacken to no avail. All of the nuts are badly rusted. I'm presently soaking with Kroil. will try again later.
