Thanks for that. I'm hoping I can find a replacement for my '69 as the rust out is in a rather curvaceous area at the bottom inside of the lid which may be a challenge for me to replicate.

After googling '68 Galaxie I realized they were close but not identical. Not sure that the sport roof used the same decklid though. Well I guess I'll be making some small patches.

So I need a replacement trunk lid for my '69. There is a '68 trunk lid in a local junk yard. So you're saying I could use that and just transfer the trim over to th ereplacement?

I had an issue years ago caused by my drive shaft with the universal orientation at the tranny 90* out of since with the differential yoke.

Always make sure the oil fill plug will come out before you remove the oil drain plug on granny's and rear ends.

Edit: I mean trannys but it might be wise on grannies as well! LOL
