Re: Year of Mfg.?
Yes, the large brake drums say 26-27, but the rest of the chassis is earlier.

Re: My "new" '27 Model T Sedan... what to do?
Sorry, I'm not like-minded. While I'm not a total purist, I do hate to see a good, complete car chopped up when there are lots of parts available for hot rod projects. I do think your estimate of...

Re: Movie alert!
The CGI wasn't all devoted to dragons. Some of the New York street scenes were very impressive. But I agree, the glimpses of the traffic were often too brief to suit me.

Re: Newbie
The average size of Americans was smaller in the Model T era, and a T can be a tight fit for larger folks. If you're in that larger category you may fit better in a 1925 or earlier T. Before you buy,...

Re: Well I never knew I wanted one.........
When I'm asked about a Model A, I say I don't know much about those modern cars. Almost had one once, but didn't have the cash at the time. So later I ended up in T land, and I love it. Life in the...

Re: magneto ? when looking
Check with Bob Bergstadt (Bob's Antique Auto Parts) just down the road from you in Loves Park. He may know somebody local who can help.

Re: magneto ? when looking
When you get the car running on battery, you can do this magneto test to find out how good (or bad) your mag is:

Re: finish wood spoked
Be aware that "natural" wood spokes are a modern fad. They're very common today because so many people like the look of them, but wheels came from the factory black, as God and Henry intended. :D

Re: replacing spokes
Gary is right about Stutzman. His price for hickory spokes is about half what all the parts dealers want for them. When I made the video there were a couple of things I didn't know about using the...

Re: Parts supplier question
That RP reminds me of Kirk Hill's car. He made a trailer to match. He has some very nice T's, but this is the one that draws attention.

Re: Parts supplier question
Ford never produced a 1918 roadster pickup. But they did produce a lot of roadsters, and it was an easy thing for folks to remove the trunk and install a home-made or aftermarket bed. That doesn't...

Re: Transmission Adjustment
How's the weather in New Jersey? If it's cold, I suspect the oil theory is most likely. If that's it, the one-rear-wheel-off-the-ground suggestion is a popular remedy.

Re: "T for Two" screenplay
While 15 mph may seem slow, it would be quite reasonable on many of the 1918 roads. But by that time the rapid improvement of roads nationwide was well underway, and cruising at 30 to 35 mph was...

Re: Engine Removal
I dislike the idea of putting all that weight on one spark plug hole. I use a chain bolted to two head bolt holes. You can do it with the head removed, or leave it on and use longer bolts.

Re: Owning a model T vs model A
If you don't mind a top speed of 40 mph, the T is great. I enjoy driving mine. But it's a matter of personal taste. I say do just as you would if you were shopping for a new car. Test drive both....

Re: Painting Wood Wheels
I've painted wheels both ways, assembled and apart. Either way is fine. When I painted all the parts separately and assembled them, damage to the paint was insignificant. It was easy to touch up a...
