Re: Remove front fenders

By the looks of the rust on those fenders, and none on the splash apron,I would guess those apron pieces are ones somebody drilled and bolted on,instead of original welded ones.If they are bolted on...

Re: Aaaa

I used to have a picture of a 30-31 AA,with the front axle 15-20 feet ahead of the radiator.I don't remember about brake rods, but I do remember seeing the mile long drag link.It was taken in potato...

Re: sign of the times

Years ago I bought a 35000 mile RHD Kenworth tractor.I did drive it 150 miles home, but wouldn't want to do it again. It had a 5X4 two stick transmission,so I felt pretty stupid driving it.My left...

Re: Model B Block Boss on side of block

I've read about the vacuum clutch thing, but I don't know if any were built.I've never seen a picture anyway. This is the first time I've heard about vacuum assisted brakes, where could I find that...

Re: Lacquer Paint fix?

A few years ago I asked the paint guy I use if lacquer really was outlawed where I am.He said no,but he never corrects people about that when they bring it up.His call for it is close to zero.They...

Re: Texas Hwy Patrol Officer Bulldogging a car

I think that picture is from a movie.I've seen it somewhere, but what is floating to the top is that is a serviceman jumping onto the car,not a lawman.

Re: Remove front fenders

On the 30 that nose cone piece of the splash apron is welded to the fender. Now,a lot of them were bolted on the fender by owners over the years to use a 31 fender,my 30 is has them bolted on instead...

Re: Cleaning the radiator

Solutions and flushings are not going to open up blocked tubes.A tube that is blocked up 3 inches from the opening is not going to let solutions down there to open it up.The juice will just find an...

Re: Front Leaf Spring

I don't know if anybody is doing heat arching around here or not.The go-to spring shop near me moved to a bigger location about 20 years ago.I was in there after they moved, and noticed the gas...

Re: Opinion Re Differential Gear Ratio

I didn't realize where you lived. From what I remember of Long Island a high gear ratio would be of zero concern.I hauled seed potatoes from there about 40 years ago.I could zip right along with 220...

Re: Opinion Re Differential Gear Ratio

I have a late 31 coupe with a Mitchell OD and 3.54 gears.Seems to work fine for me.I forget to take it out of OD a lot when I stop,I just drive off again.Very seldom do I get into a situation where I...

Re: First start of the season

I parked my coupe in the shed early last October, planning to use a couple of more times before winter.I never did,and got in it last Sunday and tried it.The car started,so we drove it 12 miles to...

Re: Hole inside front block

Thats normal. It is just cast in,no need to finish it off.It just handles the overflow of oil,and spills it over onto the cam gear.

Re: 1931 coupe Rear corner repair

Possibly a donor car.I just sold the rear corners off one to a guy that said the repros were not available right now.I had a fire damaged coupe but the corners still had the pinstriping on them.

Re: 3 window coupe

There are some details that differentiate the Ford built slant windshield Fordor bodies from the other manufacturers.I think the easiest detail had something to do with the style of the D-nuts.Back...

Re: Car Is Shrinking........

I'm kind of looking for a Victoria.I'm going to replace my July of 28 Phaeton. But,I only want a steelback,no puffy tops.I'd be just as happy with a slant window Fordor too.

Re: Newbie with '29 RPU

The tops were not held on with snaps on those trucks, they were nailed on.They were not removable or foldable. There is supposed to be a piece of wood on top of the back panel, the roof nails onto...

Re: Car Is Shrinking........
