Re: New to Model A - seat question
Welcome to the forum. I also have a 30 Tudor. I am only 6'1" but found it uncomfortable to drive being so close to the steering wheel. I am a hobby welder/blacksmith and I made my seat brackets 3 1/2...

Re: Steering Column Support Question
I installed one in my 30 Tudor and just removed the rubber "bushing" from the original mount and made sure the steering tube did not touch the original mount. I wanted to take no chance that...

Re: Save this car in Iowa, please...
Chris in WNC: The club in Griffin, GA has been out of service for a while. It sort of morphed into The Southside A's, a very active, 45 plus member club loosely based in the Newnan, Fayetteville,...

Re: Save this car in Iowa, please...
Howdy WRA. Got the car running and rolling under its own power the day after Thanksgiving, 2011. It would go but sure would not stop! Spent the next month fighting fossilized grease. Lots of scraper...

Re: led tail lights
I have the United in 6 volt. They fit the original stock lens cover like a glove but I had to grind the repop cover on the right tail light to fit the lens. I love to see the red glow on the faces...

Re: Tires
sconners. if you don't mind the thump for a couple of miles and you're on a tight budget as I am, I don't see where you can go wrong. I don't know how long they will last, but as long as they hold...

Re: Tires
I bought Universals from Mike's here in Georgia. New tubes too, as the ones ones that came with the car had many patches on them. The tires were $85 each six months ago.
I have 2000 miles on them...

Re: 1931 model A sedan
My '30 Tudor measures 65 & 1/2 inches fender lip to fender lip, both front and back. I would have thought the bumpers were wider, but not so.
Thanks for making me curious enough to go look. Learn...

Re: Weight capacity? Hauling Harley.
I suspect your weight calculations may be a bit off. My stock 1981 Lowrider tips the scale at 615 pounds, electric start and all. My 1970's style 48 Pan TT bike (Tavern to Tavern) is 481 pounds.
I...

Re: Slow leaking tire tubes
Bought mine from Mike's three months ago when I ordered my tires. They drop about one pound a month, same as the rest of the tires in the fleet.

Re: Bolt Tap Sizes
Please save yourself a heap of headaches, bite the bullet on the price and purchase a thread chaser kit. They are way different from a tap and die set. They will clean threads without removing metal...

Re: Rear Window Curtain to Roller Attachment
Howdy CarlG. It's not a short length of wire. It runs the entire length of the tube, same as the fabric width. Sorry for the 1/16" length. Should have said length of 1/16".

Re: Rear Window Curtain to Roller Attachment
If you look close at the slot at each end of the tube, you will see where it's crimped closed. Take a narrow straight blade screwdriver and gently pry the crimp open at both ends. Once open you can...

Re: 1931 Slant Town Sedan Braking Question
Check to see if the ends of the linings are beveled, about 45 degrees. A squared shoe leading edge will chatter and make you think the car is going to shake its self apart. If not, a course hand file...
