Re: Follow-up on '32 Coupe clutch chatter
Sounds like you've already learned a lot about 32 Fords (actually all the early v8's are similar anyway). The closer you can get this car to original the better, but 32 parts are not easy to find or...

Re: The question of the day?
Backing up a hill puts the motor (carburetor) lower than the gas tank. I think the tank was under the seat, when the level was low it barely ran into the carb.
Plenty of positive ground cars and...

Re: Head gasket .Which way
At least with the cast iron heads, you are bolting two pieces of cast iron together with a gasket in between them. How could it matter which way the gasket goes? Gravity can't be an issue, what else...

Re: Grease fitting size for 1937 ford spindles
As far a a grease fitting sealing because of a taper, the 1/4-28 fitting are tapered, even though the threaded hole is not. If you look close at a 14/-28 grease fitting you can see the slight taper....

Re: Dual points for increased dwell??
But if the dwell is somewhere around 30 degrees, then the overlap is most of the time.
I think that's right anyway.
I'm too old to think hard anyway.
It's snowing real bad here in Wisconsin,...

Re: Dual points for increased dwell??
At least for a part of the time that the coil has current flowing through it, both points are closed. During that time both would have to "bounce" open in order to break the circuit. During the time...

Re: A Day In So Florida
If you put tire chains on our old Fords they go darn good in the snow, but I don't do that anymore either.
Florida looks good to me!

Re: A Day In So Florida
Well, I can't see the state of Michigan, but I can see Lake Michigan real easy. It's too big to miss.
No one is parking a nice old Ford along the shore now though.

Re: A Day In So Florida
Gee, that looks just like the sun rising over Lake Michigan here in Wisconsin. Where are your icebergs?

Re: Iola old car show
The barn down by the road is the "Toy Barn". Vendors with model cars, etc set up in there.
For many years the local Lions Club sold fried chicken (lots of it!). I think that's not being done...

Re: Prony Brake Ideas
It seems like that brake rotor would get really hot, like red hot. Maybe you could run a water jacket around it and make coffee.

Re: Rubber Rim Strip Question
I've always felt that a Ford welded spoke wheel, or any wheel that's smooth all around the inside doesn't need that rubber strip at all.

Re: Affordable Ford V8's
How about a Volvo 544, seeing as how you're in Sweden? They look like a 41 Ford.
Just kidding of course.
I love old Volvos- I have two 1800's and a 544.

Re: 34 & 35 tacoma creme paint code.
I painted the wheels on my 33 with TCP Global IM1245 Tacoma Cream acrylic enamel. It was real nice paint and it sure looks like the right color to me.
