Re: Some A's in the snow....

Well, basically ...that is why I never envied it before! :)

Re: front license plate mount

Or, alternatively, "If Momma ain't Happy, ain't nobody Happy".

One of my early managers in the industry I am in told me that, he was about 32 year sold at the time. He went on to be the CEO at a...

Re: How Did Henry Do It?

I'm sure the vast majority of folks on this site are already aware of it, but for those that might not know; Henry Ford built a successful side business selling charcoal made from the wood scraps...

Re: How Did Henry Do It?

I was initially kind of taken back when you mentioned Doc Blanchard working on an assembly at Ford. Interesting guy no doubt, your late friend.

For old school college football fans Doc...

Re: (Not really) a barn find.

Thanks for the comments guys. I plan to call him tomorrow and go look at it Mon, Tues or Wed of this week. I'll take pictures and though not the biggest techie ever, can probably figure out how to...

(Not really) a barn find.

Quite by chance, last Thursday I practically stumbled across a “barn find” (as misleading as that term can be) of sorts in the way of a Model A and I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on what I...

Re: How Did Henry Do It?

I have read that he was pretty "involved". I suspect that in the early years he was not beyond getting his hands a little greasy. How much so by the time A's were being built I wouldn't have a clue.

Re: Rear Wood Sills: when is damage too much damage?

Thirty years ago I was in year 3 of a 5 year restoration of a raised cottage.

It, too, had some bad sills; some of which I replaced, but one was in excellent shape other than where the previous...

Re: Best Anti-Freeze

Best I can recall, there used to be some concern that one of the antifreeze types (forget which one) would eat up babbitt material, should you get a cooling leak into your crankcase. Did anyone else...

Re: How many are left?

Great idea.

In fact, stories from anyone's Grandpa (or Grandma)about their experiences with a Model A would be interesting to read.

Re: Boy am I glad I am into model A's!

This is an encouraging post. Especially the part about the grand kids liking your A's.

My own grandson is only 14 months old, so it is a way too early to tell if he will take to them or not....

Re: Boy am I glad I am into model A's!

I noticed that, too, denis4x4. In fact, that is the real reason I have zero desire to take on a restoration of my own. (Getting "chicken feed" prices on an expensive effort) Maybe it is my...

Re: Boy am I glad I am into model A's!

This conversation was enough to lure me out of long time lurker mode to actually post something. Trying to figure out what any particular A should be worth is something that I struggle with. I am...
