I've got a cracked head on my 1936 1/2 ton pickup, the cracked one is the one from the drivers side - marked 40-6050-B (iron).

Also may need a set of .010 rod bearings.

Thanks all. That's what I was thinking as far as the resistor goes. Now I do wonder if I should have ordered the 3 ohm version of the coil instead of the 1.5 ohm version so it'd be one less thing...

Ah alright the one being labeled IGN SW SOL threw me off. So these didn't have one originally. Will I need to put one on when I convert to 12v?

Sounds like I should just get it rebuilt, then. There must be some issues with the electronic ignitions for these since it is pretty common advice from what I've seen thus far!

I've got the intake manifold off, radiator and grill is off. Are there any specifics or steps anyone has for removing one of these? I assume I've got to go unbolt the bolts around the transmission...
