I just repaired the same problem with my Model A Ford. Look how high your overflow tube is inside of the radiator neck. If it is down several inches from the neck of the radiator add a piece of gas...

The car was buried in sand up to the door handles. It had slowly sunk in the sand over a period of forty years. The body was rusted pretty bad. Hence I used several cars to bring it back to life. ...
