Re: Ebrake springs left or right
If you want the springs to stay put after installing them on the emergency brake arm, then take a pair of pliers and twist the spring loop that is on the arm so that it is at 90 degrees to the arm....

Why not buy a A3617 repair kit from one of the Model A parts suppliers?
Kit comes with chrome button - chrome ring - spring - and contact positioner.
No need to worry about bending the tabs and...
