59A Flywheel Machining & Clutch refitting..

The scale is marked with 6 divisions. each division is 2 degrees giving total of 12 degrees for adjustment. 6 degrees either side of the mid mark.
Normally set with 1 division advance ie 2 degrees...

So update. The "new" blue top voltage regulator has been serviced and set.
Voltage was only atn just over 6v and amps was at 40 amp. Now set up at 7.2v and 30 A.

A postive result where an actual faulty item was found, replaced with correct item and good result. logic progression and accurate fault finding.

The guy doing the work is pretty familiar with these units, ie recognised the blue top one as a Ford VR and quoted to voltage settings etc.
He is a Morris car man, older models, our first family car...

Today dropped off both voltage regulators at local Auto Electrician for check and set up.
Called prior to drop off to confirm and they can do as have 6V generator etc in w/shop.

Its frustrating to buy an item in good faith designed to do a specific job only to find it does not quite do the job. As with these new type Blue Top Voltage Regulators.

Its grounded via securing screws to firewall. It is one with the blue cover.
Made in USA so thought it would be good.

Yes it is the one with the blue cover.
But previous one fitted was an older type one, Blue Streak model.
Perhaps should concentrate on getting this one checked out as it was working ok. Will see...

I would try to prise it back and forward to free up. But to assist this process to ensure your clutch is fully engaged. This hopefully should assist.

Appreciate your advice. The surface at clutch plate contact has a few rough spots so maybe with just go with a surface clean up grind and a balance.

I would fit a mechanical gauge. It will give you a true pressure and can then assist in determining the error?? with your present set up.
