thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like i'm going with the 3.78 with 0.26 OD and a 5.1 Head

I'm going to install a Mitchell overdrive in a model a.

thr ring pinion ratio is 3.78. what are the recomendations for OD ratio. Main driving is in Kansas with few tours to the mountains....

i'm working on a 31 coupe. has not been run for about 11 years. had fuel in it all that time. Want to take the tank off and have it cleaned and sealed. using Les Andrews book to remove tank....

When i bought the car and started working on it the apron had rivets in it but no felt. i assume the felt goes on the engine side vs the bumper side. Is that correct.
Do the rivets face rearward...

Thanks for all the suggestions. i had the engine/Transmission out and was able to slide the gears around easily until i coud turn the ujoint. The suggestions all helped. thanks for the help.
