Looks like a great trip Old Henry. Bet you enjoyed it even with the little problem that arose. I know I would love to have been on it.

Apology.....No name change
First, if anything I said or my name offends someone, I am sorry nothing was meant to offend anyone.

Re: Longest doors???
If I had 10 A400 doors, I wouldn't use one where it didn't belong. I am building this out of parts that were headed to the scrapyard after a nice trip thru the crusher. The doors I use will be junk...

Re: 59AB intake runners?
JWL, I am sure that if I read your book I would probably learn much more than just runner length, and I do plan on having it some day as well as Ol' Rons book. My problem is I live on Soc. Sec. only,...

Am trying to piece together a "phantom" (never made) body style out of discarded model A parts and am wondering which model A body style had the longest doors? 28-9 or 30-1 doesn't matter.
Thanks

Re: layman question about TDC
Do it like JWL, Jack and 40 cpe say, mark accurate and measure accurate and you will have it. If you want to check it for true, dead nuts on, pull the head and use a dial indicator.

Re: Electrical
If gen is in good shape, use a 12 volt regulator and polarize. Takes care of charging circuit. If changing to neg grnd at same time, wire on amp meter will have to be switched if it reads backwards.

Re: 51 ford rearend question.
Your rear tire size (compared to stock size) will play a role in final gearing also.

Re: Southwind Heater Safety
If you have had the car since 1970 and aren't sure about the heater working, I sure wouldn't want to fire it up with out checking it out thoroughly first.

Over the years I've managed to pick up two of those "Flexible Flyer" sleds. One about this size and one little short stubby one. No, I won't part with them.
