A correct piston stop has an adjustable bolt through the center to accommodate for piston dwell time as it can still be a factor if you are not at the apex of the upstroke.

Lol. Not so good. That was the day I made new connectors to work on the Thomas head.
These worked a little better.

Just to eliminate confusion that is not possible on an A motor. The timing dimple is on the cam gear and requires two crank revolutions to get it to the timing pin hole. If the pin was on the crank...
