Re: 40 Flathead to 1965 MUSTANG Trans
I liked my fully synchronized Ford 3 speed on my 40 Ford when I was running a Chev motor in it with a Trans Adapt bellhousing. Nice coming to a stop an down shifting to first gear with a grind. I...

Re: 40 hood hinge
Replaced rivets with shoulder bolts, lock nuts and spring washers. Not stock but not problem with rivets again.

Re: flathead headers construction tips
Wish I had the talent to make my own headers. I had converted to the Saginaw when I still had the SBC in the car. Used the Barn for information when I decided to have the flathead built. Had seen...

Re: What intake would you choose?
Same here; 390 on 8ba block with early style center water port heads. Had to extend the 390 up to clear linkage but works like a charm. Decided to run manual choke rather than electric one.

Re: finally up and running
Looks like an 8BA intake, has removable freeze plugs in the road draft tube opening and where the oil filler tube would go. Should have a vent tube where fuel pump used to be.

Re: 40 Ford Coup Hood Alignment
Well I got closer to the elusive hood alignment when a rivet broke on the spring hinge and cut the back of my hand (not too bad). I hate rivets, thinking of cutting them out and replacing with...

Re: 40 Ford Coup Hood Alignment
