Nice craftsmanship and thanks for the idea...Mine has plywood flooring and I have an Incra Router table that would make the sliding dovetail jount a pretty easy task...

I did work from the underside of the car, it was a lot easier to see the rod, spring spider and clip for me...This was just after rebuilding the 2 tooth steering box and before I installed the engine...

I had to squeeze the clip together a bit to get it to stay in place on the rod groove...I used electrial tape to hold the rod lever to one of the webs on the steering wheel and did the assembly under...

Someone posted a great link, the first page was Model A Ford Wiring, Keeping the Current Flowing...I printed it off and realized the first dozen or so pages were the only ones that printed, ran out...

My father gave me his 1930 5 window before he passed...It hadn't been running for 30 years and my 3 kids remembered dad taking them for rides and they all were in the rumble seat...I got it running...
