Re: Upgraded to 12v Elec, Then No Power
Gotcha Jim. Yes changed from positive ground to negative ground. I eyeballed the fuse at the starter and it looks good. Tomorrow night will change it out or bypass it to rule that out as a factor.

Re: Upgraded to 12v Elec, Then No Power
Not a stupid question at all. That's a helpful suggestion I hadn't thought about Ruth. I'm a recent owner of this coupe and I'm not 100% sure about the ins-and-outs of this electrical system. Best...

Did a pretty basic conversion from 6v to 12v today.
New 12v battery, 12v alternator, 12v coil, 12v amp gauge, new 12v bulbs.
Got the car to fire up after doing the conversion, all seemed...

Re: Battery Disconnect
These are great ideas Badpuppy. Thanks. Will try this for a short term fix and then hook up a disconnect on the ground side of the battery.

Re: Battery Disconnect
My car is still 6V positive ground. I've been having trouble with the battery going dead while the car is parked for a week or so. Figure turning the battery off while parked will help rectify the...

Advice Needed: Starting Troubles
Hey Everyone,
I've had this Model A for only a short time. Usually I haven't had too much trouble getting it started, but recently I'm having problems.

Re: Who's running a Marvel/Schebler carb?
Good info on this carb. I've been trying to decide whether I wanted to trade in my crusty Zenith for a rebuild or go with a downdraft carb setup. These Marvels seem kind of unique and nice...

Re: Enjoying my "New" Model A
I'm running 560/15 front and 820/15 rear. Haven't pulled the back wheels since I bought it but I believe there is a spacer on the rears

Re: Enjoying my "New" Model A
The car was found by Stockley Kustoms in Denton Texas. Before he sold it to me he installed a drop axle up front and a model B spring in the rear. That and the big-and-littles give it a nice stance...

Re: Enjoying my "New" Model A
Still running the mechanical brakes. I had juice brakes come close to failing a couple times on my old '35 hot rod and that spooked me a bit. Going to stick with the Model A stock setup as I don't...

Enjoying my "New" Model A
Just wanted to provide a quick introduction as I recently acquired a 1930 model A. I was driving a heavily modified 1935 Ford Pickup in California before selling it. Picked up my new project upon...
