Model B engines had a pressurized oiling system to the main bearings. This is why the valve side cover is about 1" taller, the extra area covers the pressurized oil galley. If you check with A & B...

Clean it up, sand blast, and recheck. It can be cast iron welded or brazed as the A's do not run a pressurized system. B U T if the block is not the original, serial numbers matching, do not worry,...

So the question still remains, Does "anyone" have the instructions on how to use this tool? I believe that Bratton's HAD the instructions on their website when the tool was available from them. Alas...
