Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Yo, Stretch....When I first bought our very original, un-restored '37 coupe about 21 years ago, it felt like I was sitting down too low in the seat. Nothing wrong with springs. Just too low for my...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Squeeze-in at least this much or more....way more than you would ever think! You can't use too much. Throw your needles away and slop it on with your hand(s)! Definitely use the GREEN CORNHEAD...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Stretch....It's way cool that your buds still love ya and helped you out with the install!

Now, just forget all of that rhetorical B/S that I threw at you in post #77 above. It really doesn't help...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

It has to do with the fact that some programs–especially older image programs–will just load the image and ignore the Exif Orientation tag, displaying the image in its original, unrotated state....

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

That DOES appear to be the B-17286 snap ring that "19Fordy" points-out. The size looks correct compared to the guy's finger. Gotta have that ring to hold that speedo gear in the right place. DD

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

You don't need discs, and you quite possibly don't realize everything ELSE that must be considered when installing disc brakes, other than the discs and calipers. Put some Boling Brothers' Bendix...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

You can get sorta-close with a steel rule, but that is no way to accurately measure the INSIDE DIAMETER of a brake drum. This tool BELOW by "Gearwrench" is one of the less-costly tools for measuring...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that a 1940 and 1939 are similar/same. Kube will shoot me down if I'm full of it. The pictures below show the cover door that you're looking for, as well...

Re: 1939’ Deluxe 2DR Sedan

Yes, that socket is called a "bayonette bulb socket", but there is more to it than that. What cought my eye is the fact that you mention an 1157 bulb. "1157" bulbs are 12v, dual filament bulbs, like...
