If they used Loctite you may need to use a little heat. Only heat up the bearing race though, do not heat the spindle too much. Loctite will release with heat.

Personally I'd pass on it.
Why? Because that Porosity may be much worse internally.
What if it actually goes into the water jacket. It would leak and then you would be removing it and fixing it...

Internally the gears are the same but that is all. The Bell Housing and case is different. I think the shift tower is the same.
