Just installed a Bert's carb on my 29 tudor. Its everything promised and worth the price. While I normally cruse at 45-50, this car will zip up to 60 plus. Beautiful idle. Highly recommended.

Free play is adjusted properly. Never had slipping issue with old engine and worn disc.

I have crimped some. Perhaps should be more aggressive. Was concerned about eliminating all movement in order to absorb engine vibration and movement but maybe the distance from the engine midigates...

I have the same problem with the origional clamp on my nice driver. Is my next step to adapt a modern type hanger?

OK, I have the same problem but don't understand how the shim helps. Seems as that would make it fit tighter in the steering shaft. I understand sanding down the repo shaft. Bob

Oil is running down (or out) the right rear of the block where the bell housing joins up. Therefore, the basis of my original thought of the gasket issue. I like the idea of re-flooding the valve...

As a follow up, is it time to pull the engine back out and replace the gasket? Any other place it could leak without even running the engine? I have refilled the valve chamber several times through...
