You did not mention your plan for your pickup...show or drive? The thumbscrews you need are available in forged not stamped, at Fastenal. Get 4 and they all would be the same.

That shiny spot on the left was a built up "dimple" . 1/16" dia and .043 high. So the copper disc could not sit flat on...

Is it flexible like the rubber connector or is it straight? Straight won't work. the joint has to flex with the engine movement. Do you have a picture of it?
