Re: Bumpsteer
I'm just surprised they're the only ones that make them. It seems pretty straight forward for any company with machining capabilities and a welder

Re: Bumpsteer
Yep I sure have. I had a pair, pulled them off and flipped the originals which is what got me to post this question. I think I'm just going to run it and see how it goes. Now if I could find a used...

Re: Bumpsteer
Mine is a club coupe but I don't think it would matter either way to tell you the truth. I have the camber correcting kit installed already so I'm covered there. What I'm hoping to get is someone...

Bumpsteer
So let me ask you guys this...
Flipping the factory uprights on a '49 custom and NOT dropping the steering arms. How much actual bumpsteer does it induce? A yank, a jerk, a lane change...what?...

Re: Fatman steering arms
It's out of control. The last time I bought a pair they were I think $180. I know the price of metal has gone up but $135 more is freakin nuts

Re: Fatman steering arms
I put in the post I'm not buying them from a vendor. Of course there are 5+ companies that sell them new

Fatman steering arms
Anybody have a pair they want to part with for a shoebox? I'm not interested in buying new from a vendor as i feel they're way overpriced

Re: 1950 Shoebox Trunk Latch Strike
You set on using the factory latch? I have a '49 so my latch is a bit different but I connected a bear claw latch to the original release handle. It was pretty easy to do

Re: Lowering the front of my '49 coupe
If I had a torch or any access to one it would be all taken care of. Apparently the Fatman steering arms will work with enough grinding. I bought them to work with my flipped uprights initially but...

Re: Lowering the front of my '49 coupe
I know they're camber correction kit is way better looking than the version I have. I think it went from 3/16 to quarter inch plate or something like that

Re: Lowering the front of my '49 coupe
It was Fatmans that I had that trouble with but I'm thinking Jamco sold the Fatman parts through their website. That's how most of the places are. Have a pic of your car with just the springs? I...

Trying to figure out the best option. If you could, please read the entire post before replying. That way there's not a bunch of suggestions to something I've already done.
So I've had the car...
