Re: Trip to the nationals in the 34

Thanks for sharing the pictures. On my one month long visit to Australia in 2016 I drove back roads from Sydney to Nowra and then to Canberra. On the west coast from Perth to Albany to Ningaloo...

Re: Verify 1934 Ford Accessories, Please

Technically, a set of tools for your car aren't "accessories". Your car came from the factory with a complete tool set.

One person who deals extensively in Ford tools is Lin Stacey. His email...

Re: Truck driveshaft-torque tube grease seal

Bob - Not sure why the one I recommended didn't work but it looks like you have found a solution. I'm still waiting to get my frame back and when I do, I'll have what I did in hand and can be sure...

Re: 1935 pickup fuel gauge/help to identify radiator

The radiator isn't a stock 1935 so if you are trying to fit this into a stock 1935 pickup, you may have to make some modifications.

Re: Don't be afraid of shipping -Deals exist!!

Things change.
In July I'm bringing home a flathead truck radiator as my checked luggage on United from LAX to Dulles. I'll be in LA for a family trip. I will have to pay a small upcharge based...

Re: 1932 The Deuce, Dually, Dump Truck

Chris,
I'm still in the body painting stage, so I won't have my truck done in time for meets this year. Hope to start the assembly process in June. Seems like it takes so much longer than I think...

Re: Don't be afraid of shipping -Deals exist!!

My Fastenal shipment was from Oregon to Virginia, about 200 pounds. That was in 2020 so maybe things have changed. It was by far the lowest cost for me.

Re: Don't be afraid of shipping -Deals exist!!

I used Fastenal for shipping a very large transmission coast-to-coast for around $300.

There's no pickup or delivery, so you need a Fastenal store on...

Re: Mechanical vacuum brake boosters

There were a lot of different pneumatic (air) vacuum brake manufacturers who made systems which could be fitted to early Ford trucks with mechanical brakes - Westinghouse-Bemdix, Vel-Vac, and Midland...

Re: Seat Cover for 1935 Ford Pickup

Try calling ThirdGen Auto (in Tennessee) and ask for Michael. If anyone knows the answer to your question it will be him.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

I think the full floating rear axle was put into production in around February 1934, so early 1934 BB trucks had to 3/4 floating and later trucks had the full floating.

Re: '34 Truck comes to live with it's brother.

Very cool. Trucks seem to come in pairs!
Looks like the '34 has the full-floating rear axle.
Congratulations on your hauling adventure, it looks awesome.

Re: 32 bb v8 radiator

Are you asking about a Model BB Truck or a commercial vehicle like a pickup?

Very few 1932 trucks came with a V-8 engine and not many more for 1932 commercial vehicles, like the pickup. The...

Re: Seat Cushion Frame Dowel Plate 50-815376

The "nails" are No. 4 tacks so the hole they leave behind is very small. Maybe the holes left by the tacks swelled closed or abraded away? There's no other way to attach the plate to the plywood. ...

Seat Cushion Frame Dowel Plate 50-815376

There are a couple of threads which mention the three-hole plate under the seat plywood support for trucks. There were some conflicting stories and I wasn't sure of the applicability and that...

Re: 34 pickup grill lacing

Sounds like you have it figured out. The j hooks should have two holes for a split rivet to connect the lacing. Once I got the right length and fastened the hooks, I found that putting the hooks...

Re: 3 speed auxiliary TT transmission work on BB?

I don't know for certain, but it's unlikely the auxiliary transmission you show would be appropriate for a BB truck. I think the drive shaft diameters increased and as previously mentioned, the...
