Not knowing anything about your T. What condition is the wiring in? Bad power cables from the battery to starter can create a large voltage drop when cranking and in turn drop enough while pulling...

In and out laterally. If you are staring directly at the axle shaft end and you push in and then pull out. I measured it with my dial indicator.

I have a 1927 Coupe the axle was rebuilt before buying it. I spoke with the very knowlegable previous owner. I did an axle check just to be thorough while working on rear wheels. I have no play on...

Yes Bill you probably would have and thank you. Rich we were the purchaser, the seller backed out of the sale after he received our check that we over-nighted. Think it perhaps was fraud. Who knows....

I am still waiting for my first free start, I have witnessed one on a ride though one day. It was legendary, that was when I learned that they can do it. How cool is that? You must be sooooo excited!

Good news, I am planning on playing with the carb much more to get it right. Lubing the insides of the motor and turning over by hand I could feel it "ease" up. Just dry from sitting. Now it cranks...

UPDATE:

I pulled all spark plugs and re-checked compression and #3 was at almost 0. I checked valves for sticking to make sure they weren't staying open. I sprayed some aerokroil in the cylinders...

Stevests. I did make sure the yellow wire was on correct that would be an easy mistake to make though lol. Update below.

Redmodelt is 2 turns out what it takes to typically run? I had it started...
