Thanks for all the help, got the tank out this weekend, it was a definitely an experience. Now to the process of getting it cleaned up.

Thanks for all the suggestions and tips. I have attached a photo showing the wood piece on the dash. Hopefully this weekend I will have some time to work on it.

I am attempting to remove the gas tank of my 29 Fordor and have a question on whether or not I have to remove the wood dash piece to get the tank out.

I just checked the number on the fuel tank firewall wall side and it read: 2 4 29.

Thanks for all the input, I am very new to model A. I found the pad, it has an engine number of *A1104181*. Hopefully this weekend I will have an opportunity to raise the cab and locate the number...

That is the correct, i took the number off the water pump. I will check the engine this evening if i can find any numbers on the block.
