Re: Fuel pump interchange
Terry, you are right. I had to use some adapters to go from NPT to compression fittings. Luckily, I had two. Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Fuel pump interchange
38 coupe, yes I have checked the accelerator pump and had the little check ball out(it was stuck both times). I will take it apart again and do a more thorough cleaning. I will probably end up taking...

Re: Fuel pump interchange
Alan, I did clock it over 1 click and it sits nice and close to the firewall now. Kurt, I didn't know about the screen in the original pump and I was wondering what that petcock was for. This is a...

Fuel pump interchange
I'm having issues with my 36 LB engine regarding fuel. There is no fuel filter so I want to add one. I have a fuel pump from a 51 truck motor with the built-in glass bowl filter. It will physically...

Re: Cleaning out gas tank 1958 Ranchero
Thanks for all the replies. This is what I did....
Once I got it out and got the float assy out, I could tell it was only rusty where little pools of water had settled--not too bad.
I could also...

Re: Cleaning out gas tank 1958 Ranchero
I put the new tank in. I always use non-ethanol gas. My avatar is the only picture I have. Thank you for the fuel filter reference. Once I get the tank out, I will try to take photos to show the...

Re: Cleaning out gas tank 1958 Ranchero
Thank you KULTULZ. This was a brand new replacement tank from Bob Drake. The ORIGINAL tank was rusty and had pin holes and had the "sock". Maybe someone in the past put it in there. I am only...

Cleaning out gas tank 1958 Ranchero
I recently discovered I got water in my gas tank thanks to Hurricane Florence. Rust showed up in the see-thru fuel filter. I drained the gas and a lot of rust particles came out. I can pull the tank...

Lowering my 58 rear on the cheap
I would like to drop the back end of my 58 Ranchero a little just for looks. I don't want to spend a lot of money doing it either. I also don't want to stray too far from stock. I am not buying...

Re: Ford side glass "magic trick"
Thanks for the replies. Now that I have had a chance to ponder it, the 48 sedan has vent windows on the front doors. Maybe it was the back glasses that slid back. But the fronts on the 36 slide...

Ford side glass "magic trick"
I have a good buddy that was showing me a feature of his 48 Ford Sedan where the front (and maybe back) door window glasses open, first front -to-back for about an inch before dropping down. This...

Re: Tappit noise
5w20 wt. oil sounds a little light to me for a y-block. That could be part of the "rattle" you hear. JMHO.

Re: self adjusting brakes.
I attempted to do this to my '58 Ford Ranchero. I quickly realized the slot for the star wheel adjuster was not in the right place for self-adjusting brakes. I determined it would require different...

1935-6 Ford pick-up glass channel source
I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for the door glass channels, the one that runs front to back that the glass mounts in? It is a metal "bar" that the regulator pushes up and down. Thanks!
