Re: Hot '53 Mercury flatty
So I called the guy that had it and I'm sorry to say, it's gone. Probably sold for scrap.
So back to my fatty. Will the starter from the automatic work with the bell and plate I have?

Re: Hot '53 Mercury flatty
Yes a compression test is one thing I'm gonna do. This engine had the Merc-o-matic behind it originally. I have the starter from it. I also picked up a flywheel, cast bell, and starter plate. Will...

Re: Hot '53 Mercury flatty
Thanks everyone. I feel better now moving ahead on this. I should probably pull the pan and intake and take a peek inside just to be safe.

Hot '53 Mercury flatty
This engine was in a car that burned in a structure fire. The car was toast but I'm hoping the engine is salvageable.
The good:
Engine turns over nice and smooth.
Coolant and oil levels were...

Re: Install of 1929 Sport Coupe Belt Rail molding
I used 2 wide pry bars behind the moldings and carefully worked the nails out from the wood...a little at a time. I haven't separated the inner and outer molding and don't plan to. I have no clue how...

Re: Install of 1929 Sport Coupe Belt Rail molding

They also hit mennonite and amish buggies. People have too many distractions while driving and just aren't paying attention.

Re: 29 Tudor electric wiper
Fred, did you test it on the bench or in the car? The reason I ask is because I don't see the copper "ground" strap that should be fastened under that one screw. The other end goes between the rubber...
