I am using studs to align the trans with the bell housing, and have removed the bearing retainer. Will try again later today. Thanks for the experienced comments. Nice to have another opinion.

Yes. The engine is jacked up and the top of the bell housing is even with the lower edge of the firewall. Thanks for the suggestion.

Having trouble installing '47 Mercury trans from the passenger compartment. Have not installed rear trans mount but rear bearing retainer with ears to mount above rear trans mount still will not slip...

There is only one hood support on my '39 PU; left side, mounted to a lip low on the firewall. The support is a two part brace which must be lifted slightly to release the hood so it can be closed....

The cab fuel inlet was used in the bigger Ford trucks where the fuel tank was below the cab. The left rear fender had the fill inlet for the fuel tank which was behind the diff and between the frame...
