Ford 59 Carb

The carb on my 39 Ford flatty is a Ford 59..possibly a 59A.


Any comments on the reliability and dependability of this carb? Apparently it was used on 47 to 48 cars and 46 to 47 trucks.

If you have a good spark at the plugs, it seems to me that the condenser must be fine. Am I wrong about that?

Early 32 Ford Differential.

My 32 Ford has an 'early' rear end. The pinion bolts onto the cone shaped end of the driveshaft and is keyed, not splined. The crown has 34 teeth and the pinion 9 teeth making it a standard 3.78:1...

Most reputable engine rebuiders can do the job, especially if they've been around a while. R and R Engine Rebuilding in Thunder Bay, ON did my 39 Flathead, and I was happy with the results.
