Thanks for the reference but I am looking for a converter not an inverter. I want to convert +6v DC to -12v DC not AC. An inverter converts a square wave source to a sine wave.

Looking for a +6v to -12v converter to run low power 12v accessory devices i.e. GPS, cell phone,etc.(5W-25W).
