Perhaps will Whygoby chime in here. He reproduces this SW tach drive and he knows for sure if the spacer is required or not.

Wanted: 1936 "rocky mountain" rear brake drum

I've got one drum from a great Ford Barner so I only need 1 more rear drum now to finish the brakes on my early '36 banjo rear end.
