Looking for a good condition autolite heater box that fits on top of the waffle manifold. I have the firewall valve, just no air box.

Thanks!

Re: Gas Guage Paint

Hey Bruce,
Go to your local hobby shop and purchase some Aero-gloss lacquer based paint gloss black. It comes in 1oz bottles. This works perfect and will not come off with gasoline.

There is a little brass bushing under the steering wheel that may be tight or worn out. It allows your steering to rotate without turning the light switch.

Re: Tire Purchase Input

Hi Scott,
I just purchased these same tires for my sport coupe. I was pleasantly surprised. They look nice and seem nice quality. For a driver, I am very pleased.

Re: what are your tricks to prevent stalls during braking

Easiest fix is to put in a new throttle shaft on the carb. As they wear, they leak air.

Re: Toe-In and Steering Question

I'm reading a couple of things here. So after making the marks by spinning the tires and using chalk, we should then lower the tires back onto the ground, and move them forward a few feet to do the...

Re: Toe-In and Steering Question

Should the toe-in be adjusted with the tires on the ground, or spinning free on jackstands?

Re: The price of tires—Yikes!

I noticed that Universal tires are still $99 each. Not sure about the quality though. https://www.universaltire.com/universal-tires/universal-bias-ply-tires/475-500-19-universal-blackwall.html

Re: fans

The repro fans are really nice. Don't risk your investment of an off-balanced fan.

Re: Manafold Leak

If tightening the bolts doesn't help, you should take the manifold off and check that it is perfectly flat. Also check for droop. Over time sthey tend to droop down on the outlet nearest the firewall...

Re: Fuel gauge float question

removal of the gas gauge is pretty simple. I would not recommend the aluminum tool. The star and outer wrench do not fit very well. I had a heck of a time getting mine screwed down tight enough to...

IMHO you can get your local paint store to mix up some rattle cans of touch-up paint and keep your painted wheels looking great for much cheaper and less hassle than powdercoating.
