I’m with Rick, I have a spring loaded toggle switch under the dash and I hold it on until I hear the pump noise change. Previous owner installed the electric setup.

Had a similar experience, the shaft on the distributor was bent, CharlieNY rebuilt it for me, now it run fine.

I did get to see engine no. 1 at the Henry Ford museum about 5 years ago.

My Uncle had a small I-H hit and miss bolted to his back porch. Once a year we’d get to visit and he would start it up and let it run a few minutes, I think that’s how I got to be a gear head.

What kind of drivability issues are you having? The stock system should be fine if it’s all working right. You’ll need to troubleshoot each part of your ignition system separate then move on to fuel...

Re: Change from 16 inch wheels to 15 inch wheels

I went with “15 to get rid of the bias ply tubed tires and install tubeless radials, this also lowered the car about 1 inch all around. I can now polish the roof easier.

Good to know, I usually get a 5 gallon can for my small motors and sometimes fill my car from that.
