Re: Hershey cancelled

Huge? Hmmm; the unemployment rate in Las Vegas is 33% at the moment, which beats the depression in Greece and the Great Depression of the 1930s.

Corona has thrown the middle class head first down...

Re: Hershey cancelled

It's been clear as day since mid April there would not be a Hershey this year.

There might not be a Chickasaw or Hershey in 2021 either unless they find a treatment or vaccine.

Question Who sells larger size intake valves?

I could be wrong, but I think the main suppliers don't sell larger size intake valves. Who does?

Re: Which modern valve kit and valve guides?

Thanks guys. I forgot to say that I was thinking of using CW Moss valve springs which are longer in length to standard and have a slightly thicker coil wire. Using these springs which guides are...

Re: Need to re-torque head, but socket is too fat

Great, thank you. Searched "11/16 obstruction wrench" on ebay and found this 12 point head for a Pontiac for under $20, hope it will do the job.

Re: My friend Kenís Model A -V8

Tell Ken he's a bad boy and that we want the car returned to original. The old car hobby isn't a democracy.

Re: Need to re-torque head, but socket is too fat

The supplier's version is junk, read what it says about them on that fordgarage link above.

I'd love to find an original Snap-on or Bonney obstruction offset wrench for sale. What sort of money...

Good questions Comrades. This beat up old car is exceptionally rare.

Mr Snyder

I've never read anything bad about Randy so it's likely he's the good guy everyone says he is. The hobby needs more like him.

The others who have the heads bashed in here more often...

Question Re: 3.27 Ring and Pinion

Purdy, no doubt you're correct if talking about a stock engine but how about when running a 50-55hp engine (5.5 head, Stipe cam, Aries)? You still think a 3.27 is too high?

Re: 3.27 Ring and Pinion

There is a "third way" which I'm going to try. Plan is to have a 3.54 rear and run USA made BF Goodrich Silvertown 5.50 bias ply tyres, 5.50 is the size the Russian Model A used. This gives an...

Re: Nice

Actually, you could be spot on! This head was dug up from a WW2 battlefield in Estonia. If it is a Russian made A head off a GAZ (could also be a USA made head exported to GAZ in the early 1930s) it...

Re: Tudor seat pivot pin

I think I'll buy the supplier's non-original cotter pin setup...it's not fun trying to remove and install E clips.

Re: 600w leaking out of steering box

If 00 is too thick then there's always NGLI 000 grease but it's normally only sold in 5 gallon pail size.

I managed to find one seller who offers in 14 oz. size:...

Re: Apart from Ford, who else made hi-comp police heads back in the day

The lad should have looked at the box, seen "Winfield" on the head then gone to Google and Ebay. The for profit sector of the Model A hobby is a bear pit...no place for lambs.
