Re: Snyder's New Catalog Came...and a Warning!

That's well stated. Personally, I'm in the second category, though perhaps not too cheap. :) However, there are some things I'm not comfortable doing because I don't have the skillset, like...

Re: Snyder's New Catalog Came...and a Warning!

I was about to say the same thing. :D I'll admit I'm guilty of small-scale hoarding ("I'll get around to restoring that at some point...") but I'm also willing to sell/trade parts when other people...

Re: radiator splashing

One of the things I love about the internet is chances are, if you're asking a question, someone else is wondering the same thing.

My car (31 Victoria) was doing the same thing. When the engine...

Re: Photo request: Page 11, "Model A News"

This is one of those details I look for when someone claims their car is a "perfect" or "showroom" restoration. Same goes for when someone says their car is completely "original"...but lacks any...

Re: Mid-Atlantic Pre-War Swap Meet, 05/10/2024-05/11/2024, Luray, VA

How big does this meet typically get? I've passed on attending before, but if it's worth the 9-hour round trip, I'll definitely consider it this time.

And, I'd get to hang out with old guys from...

Re: "Special" Intake Manifold?

It looks like the engine has a Model B exhaust manifold?

The intake manifold is kind of an odd type that seems to be like one of the unusual "unfinished" right hand drive manifolds.

Re: Canadian Model A Info

Sorry the image is kind of blurry (I don't have the hi-res image) but this is the location for RHD (RHC as they called it) frame number stamping.

Re: Canadian rad emblem is different than U.S.A.

Sorry for being late to this thread about the radiator shell. I was looking for info on the badge and saw the subsequent posts. I had a VE28 shell at one point and it also had the tabs for the badge....

Re: Electric Model A's

For my line of work (government utilities) I was at a conference this last week. One of the vendors there had a very interesting concept - an energy storage device with the primary component being...

Re: 190-A Victoria Coupe Trivia

Yes. As I like to say "you can fit a dead body back there!" :D:D

It does make for some nice storage. I have a full tool kit plus emergency supplies and still have plenty of room if I wanted to add...

Re: Value of an Un-Restored Model A Engine

I'll buy multidisk clutch parts all day long. The rest of the transmission, not so much.

Being in the US, I'll also pay decent money for RHD clutch housings, particularly early ones. It's cheaper...

Re: Cartouche

I bought my 19 inch tubes with metal stems from Ecklers not long ago. I didn't have any issue with their service. I normally buy from Snyders, but no one else had the tubes in stock.

Re: Champion 3X Spark Plug

Part of the benefit of the 3X plugs it that you can take them apart and clean the individual pieces separately, then reassemble. Using a common scouring pad, they can be cleaned up quite nicely.

Re: Skills Necessary To Own & Operate A Model "A"

I'm one of the younger guys on this forum (e.g. "I have grandkids your age!" is a common comment from club members) so I come from the generation of not having had to do anything mechanical to cars. ...

Re: Tire Inner Tube

I bought six 19 inch tubes with the metal stems from Eckler's in October. I saw they had them in stock and jumped at the chance.

Re: List of Reproduction "A" Parts That Don't Work

This isn't a part that doesn't work...it's simply non-existent: the Phaeton rear seat mat. I have no idea why these aren't available. It seems there'd be a continued demand as there are plenty of...

Re: List of Reproduction "A" Parts That Don't Work

The great thing about RHD cars is that so many have been modified, leaving the original parts aside. I love searching out and finding the parts I need for my car, even though paying for shipping from...

Re: gas gauge

Glad I can replate these. They're some of the easier parts to nickel plate, in my opinion. Looks like I'll be in the money! HA! :D :p;)

Re: gas gauge

Here's the gas gauge diagram out of the judging standards. The JS reads:

The early 1928 gas gauge had a vertical oval opening
with a flat lens and was used through May 1928.
In April 1928 the...
