how to measure crankshaft end play

we have 1950 8BA in a 47 ford car , is there a way to get a close end play measurement 0f the crankshaft ? One shop told me .006 another said .014

47 convertible suspension

my car sits about 1" lower on drivers side front and rear. 4" dropped axle with front mono leave spring , stock rear springs . maybe crushed body mounts or a adjustment ? thx tom
