Re: Motor Meter or Quail
All it takes is one time. Plus you know if it isn't getting hot enough. If it's under 65f outside mine won't get much above 120f. I have two different sized cardboard blockoff plates I painted black...

Re: Carburetor leaking
There's several different carburetors that fit on the Model A. You may have ended up with a float that was made for a different carburetor.

Re: Carburetor leaking
I just went through this with my old carburetor.
Like everyone else is saying, first off make sure the float is good. I had set the float height on mine to the correct spec was still getting...

Re: Grease fitting on exhaust pipe
That must have been an April Fool's day article. That would make a mess on the inside of your exhaust and produce an ungodly amount of smoke

They'll take that Light Bar!![/QUOTE]
"Well officer, the light bar is inoperative and this vehicle is not operating on public roads."
I know it would be a huge no no to drive the car on the...

Re: Florida Drivers
A week before I bought my house, someone was killed at the intersection in front of my house. About 6 months ago, the old lady who lives down the street from me got nailed by someone blowing through...

Re: Sealed beams
They just don't look right compared to the original lights. I'm sure they work fine, but they ruin the original look of the car IMO

I could sit and watch traffic all day. You will see the most ignorant people doing the most ignorant things endangering everyone around them and probably only shave a few seconds off their arrival...

Re: Leaking gas tank
I've read that JB Weld won't hold up to gasoline ethanol in it. Eventually it gets gummy and fails. But, I've heard people say they've done gas tank/carb repair with JB Weld and never had a problem...

Re: Marvel Carb: Installing new throttle shaft
Yes, marvel specific. The marvel carb only has one screw to hold the throttle plate in place.
It is not oversized and yes it came from Renner's Corner.
I didn't see any oversized ones and...

Re: Fuel polishing worked
I originally was looking at that F1NC, but from "Mr. Funnel". The one I was looking at would filter particles down to 50 microns. Which probably would've got most of the junk out. But, I chose the...

Fuel polishing worked
The crud in my tank took out my shutoff valve and my carb started leaking (with the float height set correctly). So, I got a new float valve and seat for the carb, shutoff valve, and decided to try...

Re: Electric Model A's
The stock engine isn't powerful enough to charge a hybrid battery pack and move the car down the road. Especially when you factor in the added weight of that whole system. Besides that, idk how you...

Re: Clamp-on O2 Sensor
Not specifically on the Model A, but I've used tailpipe sniffers. They aren't very accurate and the further down the exhaust system you are, the further off they get.
What I'd suggest is getting a...

The EPA MPG ratings are...
