I would not think that the embrittlement would have much negative effect on the brake shoes on a 40 hp vehicle, but when you get to hi-powered vehicles and aircraft...yes.

Having beem a plater for over 20 years this was an interesting article to read. But we would always bake the items after plating to relieve hydrogen embrittlement, I wonder if they knew about...

I have found that a few of these can keep you warm, some can be quite expensive though...and loud too, but hey, at least you're warm.

I can charge my phones and run a GPS on my 6V system, cost me under $10 to set-up, don't pay big bucks at a vendor when you can get all that's needed at wally-mart, for under $10.

If engine holds five quarts, with 1/2 quart remaining in the tray, I would think:
Drain oil, add four quarts, mark this level as low, add another 1/2 quart, mark this level as full....

Yes, you will turn the cap in the neck some, may take a few tries to find the sweet spot so the meter looks right once it's twisted closed.
And check the gasket, it may be all swelled up and hard if...
