I would think if they did that it’s because of the aforementioned instances where flat firewalls were documented to have been used on some later cars. Everyone knows that if you see an original car...

See, this is exactly the things I wanted to know. Things like wire brake rod springs, threaded dust caps on the front hubs. All good stuff. I did read somewhere that the Oil filler cap was different...
