Re: Cheapest (best value) Tires
I bought a set of 4 Universal tires, and I had a heck of a time mounting them on my 29 pickup. They were stiff and wouldn't stretch over the rim. I chipped the new powder coating paint job on the...

Re: Wheel nuts
I haven't had any problems with my new lug nuts, but I did notice the studs when pressed into new cast iron drums, didn't have threads going all the way down to the drum. This could cause the nut...

Re: Wheel bearing preload
I have always taken the advice of a good mechanic many years ago that has served me well . Tighten the nut up tight to make sure bearing races are positioned, then back off and bring back to snug....

Re: Tig welding door panel questions
I repaired the doors on my 29 closed cab two years ago and had to cut about 6 inches of completely rusted out material off the bottom of each door. I bought inner and outer patch panels. The hard...

Re: Valve Spring
I'm thinking that something isn't quite right, as it should be an easy process. Make sure the guides are installed long end up. The short end is towards the cam. If you have the adjuster style cam...

Re: Houdaille disassembly
Thanks guys for the help! I'm Thinking there is a gasket type seal under this cap/reservoir that is hanging up in a groove that won't let it come off. So I will put it in my kiln at about 400 degrees...

Re: Valve Installation Question
If the exhaust seats are in good shape and have been recently ground, you could probably get by with lapping them in, but if the seats are too wide or of questionable condition , probably not. The...
