Best thing would be a adhesive remover, PPG's DX330 would remove the glue and not stain the tire. It's a Wax and Grease remover but nothing harsh like acetone or lacquer thinner.

Actually, they came factory with a vacuum diaphragm secondary's, it was a dealer installed option to have them with mechanical linkage...at least for 64.

What about 4 carbs for my Flathead, too...
