Re: 21 Stud hop up... Milling the head?

Hey Frank, it's got domed pistons and the proper domed heads. But the heads are cast iron, not aluminum so it's my understanding that they are truck heads. Reading the chart on Vanpelt it looks...

21 Stud hop up... Milling the head?

Hey All,

So I've got the 35 Tudor project and it has a 37 21 stud. I'm pretty much restoring the car and adding a little Hot Rod to the engine, but trying to be pretty correct for the era. I've...

Re: 35 Tudor find, purchase, luck, and just huh...

So here's some updates on the 35... Just a little Gibbs Brand sprayed in the cylinders and on the lifters, let it sit for two days and the engine rotated nicely! I've got 90% of the sheet metal...

Re: 28 A, Bad shake... guidance please...

Forgot to reply back but I did what you said. And immediately found out it was the wheel bearings... Me thinks my Uncle didn't wrench on it since he got it in 1968 or whatever... Gooder than new...

Re: Binding rear axle... what now?

Just wanted to follow up to everyone on what the deal was on the rear. So turns out both axles had their teeth beat to heck. They were sharp as razors and basically ground down. I'm pretty sure...

35 Tudor find, purchase, luck, and just huh...

Hey early Ford fans... So I happened along this 35 Tudor for sale and took a chance. Boxes of parts, drivetrain intact... your typical "stalled project". No real clue on how long it's been out of...

Re: Binding rear axle... what now?

Mart, I am lucky that this is a very clean "original" car. Someone had took the time to at least detail the rear, nice safety wire around the torque tube bolts. I have another 41 I need to...

Re: Binding rear axle... what now?

Ok based on the comments and Mart's explanation of some testing, I believe the spiders took a dirt nap.

Both tires off ground in neutal, they do turn opposite, but clunky, and then one will stop...

Binding rear axle... what now?

OK, have a 41 Ford coupe that the rear is now binding when turning, then releases with the sound of someone hitting the bottom of the car with a hammer. Bang! I need to pull it all out but curious...

28 A, Bad shake... guidance please...

Hey there,

I just acquired a 1928 Roadster from my Uncle. He has had it since about 1970 and I have 8mm movies of me riding in the rumble seat (throwing candy in a parade. About 1975, around 4...

Re: 59AB advice on "new" flathead

Thanks for the input. I'd really like to run the helmet, I really like the looks and in the '41 it would be correct. Just wondering if someone sells a cam for that application? But then again, I...

Re: 59AB advice on "new" flathead

Yea, bad attitudes can kill a hobby pretty quick. Luckily, I just do my thing regardless. My first flathead was built by flatjack (on here), then I had a 41 biz coupe with one. My other cars are...

Re: 59AB advice on "new" flathead

Again, sorry for bad photos, it's dark! This is the side view of the timing cover area. So, if I am reading everything correct, it's a prewar block and not a 41 because it doesn't have the sunken...

Re: 59AB advice on "new" flathead

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll tear it down and get everything lubed. I may have mistakenly called it a service replacement due to the tag attached to it. I'll dig up the warranty card that...
