Re: Cost of rebuild a flathead

Re: Paint sprayers
Harbor Freight sells an inexpensive HVLP gun that does an acceptable job with some practice. They also sell moisture traps.

Re: 1940 ford brakes
Another thing I've encountered is if there is a rip or tear in the rubber boot on the master cyl, dirt and crud will accumulate and eventually build up to the point that it will not allow the piston...

Vintage Style Antennas
Does anyone know of a source for old style antennas? I'm looking for the universal type that has a round base that is made like half of a ball and can be rotated to set the angle. Thanks

Re: Caution to all
Ken, thanks for the heads up. If everyone that gets junk parts will post it here,it may save others some grief and the suppliers may see it and realize that they can't get away with peddling junk.

A couple years ago a guy called looking for a part and I agreed to sell it to him because I had several. He wanted to look at some of my other stuff so I took him out to one of the sheds. He started...

Re: Can't open door!
Until you can find replacement parts, braze up the worn ones and file to shape. That will last for about 50 years and you should be able to find new ones in that time.

I've seen where people have put washers in or welded on the end of the pushrod and it pushed the fuel pump stand up so it was bowed up between the mounting holes. Now it leaks around the base and if...

Re: Anyone Interested In Old Race Cars?
The 2nd gear lock is an interesting feature. My 34 has a hook welded to the dash to keep it in 2nd. A lot of those old trannys would jump out of gear if you let off for the corner and it could be a...
