Re: Deluxe heater for 1948 f1
Yep, that's the one I need. Plus all of the components inside the cab. It is sort of hokey, but that's kinda why I like it so much. Sort of like vacuum wipers. Adds to the charm of the truck. :)

Re: Deluxe heater for 1948 f1
I believe the one I need would have the motor outside of the cab under the fender connected to the box inside via a flange.
I will contact you if I find that the fresh air metal parts would be...

Re: Deluxe heater for 1948 f1
Thanks fortyniner. I reached out to him through an email and after a few days now, I have heard nothing from him. So, I am hoping there is someone else out there that can help me.

Re: 1948 F1 rear glass dimensions
I actually have the glass that I removed from the truck. The problem is when I place it in the window opening, there is about 3/4" space all the way around the glass. The seal was not original and...

Re: Bed wood adapter
I actually just found a bed wood adapter kit that used to be made for Classic Haulers. Now Mid Fifty sells them. So I bought one. problem solved.

Bed wood adapter
DOes anyone know of a company that sells bed wood adapters for a 1948 Ford f1? They are the base used to raise the bed floor about an inch to accept a regular bed wood kit with the metal strips and...

I have a very stock 1948 F1 and it has a vin# that should belong to a 3/4 ton vehicle. Did they make mistakes that often back then. My vin# is 87HY108976,
It matches the firewall and the glove box...

Re: 1948 f1 metal bed conversion for shortbed
Yes, I received plenty of suggestions, but not one from a person that actually used the kit.
That's what I'm looking for. If someone actually uses something, then they can be a source of opinion on...

Re: 1948 f1 metal bed conversion for shortbed
So, all I ever wanted was for someone to let me know if they have PERSONALLY used a kit, which one was it and how did they like it. I don't how these threads get so off base from where they start.

Re: 1948 f1 metal bed conversion for shortbed
Yes, thank you, I checked it out. I'm trying to find a kit that is a little more reasonable. The Horkey site quotes a price of $933 and then there is a $200 shipping fee. There has to be one out...

Re: 1948 f1 metal bed conversion for shortbed
Thanks for that. Unfortunately, Mid Fifties doesn't really have a bed wood kit for a 1948. It lists a so called kit, but with a very vague description and no photos at all. You really can't tell just...
