Re: 46 ford wheels-16" for 15"
Assuming that the 46 is the same as my 40 Ford... The hub caps on my 40 require wheels with the hubcap bumps facing inward on the hub area rather than outward as they do on more modern wheels. My...

Re: Vapor Lock
Hey I'm not saying that there aren't other reasons why an engine might quit on a hot day... I've had bad coils as well.
Chevron publishes an extensive study regarding modern fuels. Look up...

Re: Vapor Lock
Every time a thread starts any where on this topic, there will be those who say that vapor lock doesn't exist. Had this same experience when I posted on an old Econoline website. I think the people...

Re: Tighten Fan Belt?
Thanks for the help guys.
I love that tool as well Vergil. I'm sure that Ford Service Departments way back when must have had something like this. I'm definitely going to take a spare wrench...

Re: battery disconnect switch.
I don't like the looks of the green knob type switches that attach to the battery terminal. As others have mentioned, my experience with them is that they burn or pit as well. I prefer rotary type,...

Re: Need help with Fan Belt Numbers
ADDITIONAL INFO: It appears that the wrong belt may have been used on the car. All the listings that I find have the belt width at 7/8". This belt measures closer to 5/8". This places the belt flush...

Re: Need help with Fan Belt Numbers
The fan pulley on the later engine, mounts to the generator and adjusts up and down. A shorter belt should pull the fan down out of harms way.

I always pay the price when I don't proof read my posts. Excuse my typing. My brain seems to be out of sync with my fingers these days. At any rate... Any help from the experts will be appreciated.

Re: Holley 4000 - Advice Needed
I was so close on getting this thing to run well that I was hoping the very slight stumble might be the result of the accelerator pump. HOWEVER... The distributor certainly appears to be an issue. We...

Re: 57 T-Bird Distributor Codes
Pony Carbs did the rebuild on my 4000. Still had issues even after the rebuild. I have always used Pony for my Ford carbs. They work miracles with Autolite 1100's. But not so great on the 4000.
